Isn't all wine natural?

  • It's a fair question! After all, you would expect something made from fruit juice to be healthy and free of harmful chemicals....right?

Unfortunately, there are over 60 ingredients in the U.S. permissible to be added to wine, including antifreeze (look up the 1985 Austrian diethylene glycol wine scandal). Yikes.

    🧃 🧃 🧃

  • Natural wine not only forgoes all these nasty additives, but also speaks to farming and production methods such as sustainable and biodynamic agricultural practices in the vineyard, native yeast fermentation, and less reliance on filtering and fining to produce unique wines.

We like the term 'living wine' as there is nothing added to alter the final product. Rather than adhering to a recipe in the hopes of a consistent vintage, living wines are an honest representation of the unique time and place in which they were made.
