ABOUT: Grapes have been grown on Colle Petruccio, the hill that the winery gets its name from, for thousands of years. The hill is next to the Etruscan / Roman archaeological site Roselle which was an important ancient town up until the Middle Ages. After a career in law, Sandro Ruffo left his profession to pursue his childhood passion of wine making. Sandro's philosophy is to farm and make wine the same way it has been done on this hill for millennium.

VINEYARD: Colle Petruccio farms 8 hectares of vines and olive trees. Located just outside of Grosseto in the Maremma region, the soils are known for being incredibly rocky which gives the grapes produced a unique strength and minerality. The view from the hill toward the Sea and the extraordinary Monte Agentario on the southern coast of Tuscany is truly breathtaking.

WINEMAKING: Stralunato is made in the true Tuscan white wine tradition.  Soft pressing of the three grapes together and native yeast spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel for 14 days. The wine is stabilized and allowed to naturally clarify in tank and bottled in the spring following harvest.  Other than a small dose of SO2, there are no additives or other manipulations to this wine.
