The 2020 Merlot is very pretty, with masses of raspberries and blueberries, complemented by sage and stone dust. This is vividly fruit focused and plush with a contrasting mineral staining that adds a tactile feel as rosy inner florals mount toward the close. Only a hint of tannin lingers through the perfumed finale as the 2020 finishes spicy yet fresh. The I Clivi Merlot is refined completely in cement, making it a wonderfully pure and vibrant style of the variety

The wines of I Clivi originate from ancient indigenous vines, whose roots extend deeply into a land of border, with an austere yet jovial character. All work in the vineyard, from the cutting of the grass to the deeply symbolic harvesting is done by hand.
