Maloof Wines is a husband-and-wife winery team based in Willamette Valley, Oregon, focused on producing single vineyard wines of "often overlooked or misunderstood white varieties," in addition to making some fun and funky cuvées of all colors.
Fruit sourced from the organically/biodynamically farmed Johan Vineyard in the Van Duzer Corridor AVA. The fruit was hand harvested over an 18 day period in October. 'Scrambled Sticks' comprises multiple lots that were blended in the summer before bottling. The Pinot Gris, Ribolla Gialla, and Tocai Friulano are a blend of skin contact, and direct press juice, and are fermented and aged in both clay amphora and neutral oak. The Chardonnay is all direct press, fermented and aged in neutral oak. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered, with minimal sulfur.
This is a rich and complex skin-contact wine. Seamlessly structured and delicious, with tea-like tannins, dried stone fruit, and faint floral aromas.
